Stibbe goes global

Our Brussels office, together with our other main offices in Amsterdam and Luxembourg and our branch offices in London and New York, handles our clients’ local and cross-border matters. In addition to our own international presence, we collaborate closely with other top-tier firms for cross-border matters outside our home jurisdictions. The relationships we have with these firms are non-exclusive, and they enable us to assemble a tailor-made, integrated team of lawyers with the best expertise and contacts for each specific matter. Collaborating with these firms on a cross-border matter will allow you to gain international exposure which benefits your career and opens the door for international secondment opportunities.

How Stibbe values LL.M./ Post-graduate studies

Although many of our lawyers have an LL.M. / pursued post-gradute studies, it is not mandatory for joining Stibbe as an associate. For our practice area Tax, a post-graduate Tax is highly recommended having, prior to starting your professional career.

Students ask us frequently when is the best time to do an LL.M. / post-graduate studies. Some believe it is better to enroll in one after having gained hands-on experience first as a lawyer. But beware that it would become more difficult to leave the firm once you’ve actually begun working. That's why most students in Belgium opt to pursue their LL.M. or further post-graduate studies immediately after they’ve obtained their academic qualification as a lawyer. We at Stibbe are open to both approaches as we believe that you should find out for yourself if and when you want to pursue other LL.M. or post-graduate studies.
